Guidelines on what to practice before taking the actual driving test

A friend of mine recently took the actual driving test today but didn’t passed so I am writing some of the errors he made to give you an idea what to watch out for before taking the actual drive test… by the way 3 critical errors means failed.

At first, the test instructor will check the cars equipments, you will be told to turn on the lights low beam to low, demister(front or back), signal light(left and right), wipers(front and back) etc.., the low beam light is turned on during the time of the exam.

When getting out of the parking area, do the basic checks like the rear view mirror and side view mirror then check from front, left, right and back if its safe to go.

Here are some guidelines on what to practice:

– changing lanes from left to right and vice versa( always switch on signal light and also switch it off after making the lane change because if you forget to turn it off it is considered one critical error… ALWAYS DO THE HEAD CHECK thing)

-parallel parking(always keep a good safe distance to the car in front and back when reversing)

-SPEED LIMIT( always try to go below the speed limit like if its a 70kph zone drive around 60+ to 65kph

take note: at school zone be on the 40kph limit.

-Never beat a yellow light( if you see a yellow light do safely stop and check)

-“KEEP CLEAR” on the road floor( if you are turning on the next street with this on the road.. dont drive thru it and turn but you must stop before the sign then turn when it is safe.

-3 point turn

-Turning left on green signal but there is a pedestrian lane or pedestrian light.. must check if its green so you must stop and giveway to pedestrians.

-Round about( go in when it is all clear and safe and always give way to the right.
